Wadars At Ferring
The Wadars rescue and rehoming centre in Ferring is home to a purpose-built cattery and separate small animal unit.
Whilst we have our rehoming cattery and small animal unit on site, Wadars dogs are cared for in commercial kennels or with our volunteer fosterers until suitable homes can be found for them.
We are now working closely with architects and builders to plan the next stages of development, which will include kennels, a wildlife unit, and an education centre. Ensuring that every animal has the best possible environment whilst we search for its forever home, is paramount to the design of the new Centre.
We also have the support of various wildlife sanctuaries in the area. The plan is for Wadars at Ferring to be a dedicated rehoming and wildlife centre and forms part of the Charity's vision for the next ten years.
At the heart of Wadars is the dedication and support of our many volunteers who give so tirelessly of their time and love for our animals.
Even after the centre is complete, we will still need our volunteer fosterers for the most precious of our rescued animals plus a whole army of helpers from manning the phones and raising much needed funds, to hands on work with the animals and of course, your generous donations.
Our move to Ferring was made possible because of the incredible generosity of the late Denise Sandberg.
Her legacy meant a real and lasting legacy for the sustainable future of Wadars and we are all so very grateful to her.
This is only the beginning; we will need to raise the money to develop the rest of the Centre at the same time as raising more than £500,000 every year for vet fees, food, heating and our wildlife rescue and rehabilitation work.
Development of the whole Centre at Ferring will take several years to achieve so please be patient with us.
